چکیده

The main advantage of wavelength-dispersive spectrometers applied in X-ray study is their high energy resolution. design and construction spectrometer, usually dedicated to the specific experimental systems, for example synchrotron based setups, need information about characteristics elements spectrometer such as optics elements, crystals detectors. Such can be obtained using Monte-Carlo simulations. In this paper, simulations tracing parallel-beam (PBWDS), equipped with polycapillary optics, are presented discussed. concentrates on description model, properties and, finally, track designed installed at ID21 beamline European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF, Grenoble, France). results were compared data different registered energies crystals, showing good agreement. showed that transmission tested level 15%, while divergence outgoing beam changes from 8 mrad 3 an increase photon 2 keV 10 keV. provides resolution 5 eV 33 range 1.4 - 6.5 developed simulation program successfully used conditions.

Polycapillary X-ray optics for microdiffraction

Polycapillary optics, i.e. shaped arrays consisting of hundreds of thousands of hollow glass capillary tubes, can be used to redirect, collimate or focus X-ray beams. X-rays emitted over a large angular range from conventional laboratory-based sources can be transformed into a beam with a small angular divergence or focused onto a small sample or sample area. Convergent beams of X-rays, with co...

Beam collimation with polycapillary x-ray optics for high contrast high resolution monochromatic imaging.

Monochromatic imaging can provide better contrast and resolution than conventional broadband radiography. In broadband systems, low energy photons do not contribute to the image, but are merely absorbed, while high energy photons produce scattering that degrades the image. By tuning to the optimal energy, one can eliminate undesirable lower and higher energies. Monochromatization is achieved by...
